Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how BitcoinSearch.io (the “Service”, “we”, “us”) processes personal data when you use the website and search service. We aim to be minimal in what we collect and clear about how we use it. This policy is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / RODO).
1. Data Controller
The data controller is: BitcoinSearch.io
Contact: privacy@bitcoinsearch.io
2. What we do not collect
We do not store, log, index, or otherwise retain the search queries you enter. Search queries are processed in memory only to return results and are never written to persistent logs, databases, or backups.
3. Data we collect
We collect a minimal set of technical information necessary to operate and protect the Service:
- IP addresses
- We temporarily store IP addresses for security purposes: to detect and block abusive traffic, apply rate limits, and defend against automated attacks.
- Technical logs (excluding search queries)
- We keep lightweight technical logs (timestamps, performance metrics, error diagnostics, request metadata) that do not contain search queries. These logs are used solely for service stability and security.
Retention
IP addresses and technical logs are retained for a maximum of 7 days and are automatically deleted thereafter.
4. Legal basis for processing
We rely primarily on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interests as the legal basis for processing IP addresses and logs for security and abuse prevention. We do not process personal data for marketing, profiling, or analytics.
5. International transfers
All processing takes place on servers located within the European Economic Area (EEA). We do not transfer personal data outside the EEA. Users located outside the EEA (for example, in the United States) are welcome to access and use the Service; this does not imply that their data is transferred outside the EEA.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Personal data will only be disclosed when required by law (e.g., a lawful court order), or to detect or prevent security incidents. We do not use third-party trackers, analytics providers, advertising networks, or cookies for tracking purposes.
7. Security measures
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we process, including strict access controls, encryption in transit (TLS), rate-limiting, firewall protections, and automated log deletion policies. Access to logs and IP information is limited to authorized personnel only.
8. Public blockchain data
The Service indexes and displays data that is publicly available on the blockchain. That public blockchain data is not collected from users and is not controlled by us. Because we do not control those public data sources, we cannot modify or delete blockchain data on request.
9. Your rights under GDPR
You have rights under the GDPR in respect of personal data we process. These include:
- Right of access
- Right to rectification
- Right to erasure (right to be forgotten) — for personal data we hold
- Right to restriction of processing
- Right to object to processing
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Important clarifications:
- We do not store search queries, so we cannot provide, modify, or delete queries that were entered (they are never persisted by us).
- The only personal data we process is IP information temporarily retained for security and abuse prevention. That data is deleted automatically within 7 days. If you exercise your rights, we will act on the personal data we hold (for example, confirm deletion or provide access to your IP record) to the extent technically possible and in accordance with GDPR.
10. How to exercise your rights
To exercise your rights or to ask questions about this policy, contact us at: privacy@bitcoinsearch.io.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.
11. Children
Our Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
